Parents have the opportunity to prioritize four -4- kindergartens in their application.
The application deadline for main kindergarten admission is 1 March every quarter of a year.
Remember that you must re-apply for the next kindergarten admission if you have not been offered a place during the year, or if you have declined an offer.
Change kindergarten
If you want to change kindergarten, you must submit a new application.
Applications for transfer are processed according to the same admission criteria as new applications.
In the event of a request for transfer outside the main kindergarten admission time, notice period applies in accordance with the articles of association of the kindergarten one is moving from.
Collaboration in admission
All kindergartens in Stranda collaborate on the admission.
Right to the kindergarten place
Children who apply for the main kindergarten admission with a deadline of 1 March and turn one year old before the end of August of the same year, are entitled to an offer of a place in the municipality. Children who turn one year old in September, October and November of the year in which they have applied for a kindergarten place have, upon application for the main admission, the right to a place in kindergarten from the month the child turns one year old (see section 12a of the Kindergarten Act). The child must live in Stranda to be entitled to a place.
Supplementary admission
When the application deadline for the main kindergarten admission is over, all applications are registered and will be continuously processed in case the kindergartens has a vacancy. No rejection letter will be sent out outside the main kindergarten admission. Regulations on case processing rules for admission to kindergartens regulate this.
Admission criteria
Municipal kindergartens have common admission criteria, and the entire municipality is the admission district. The private kindergartens have admission criteria that are based on the individual kindergarten's articles of association. These may differ somewhat from municipal statutes.
Pursuant to section 13 of the Kindergarten Act , all kindergartens shall, when admission, give priority to children who have a disability or a decision pursuant to the Child Welfare Act .
In order to ensure a good and correct processing of the applications, the kindergartens are dependent on the information on the application being up to date.
To be included in the main kindergarten admission, the child must be resident in the municipality in August of the same year. The move-in address must be stated on the application form. Relocation notice must be sent.

Children with the right to a kindergarten place who do not have their first choice of kindergarten fulfilled have the right to be on a waiting list.
Change the application
If you want to change the application, you must submit a new application electronically.
NOTE! During the case processing time for main kindergarten admissions 1 March - 1 May, it is not possible to re-prioritize kindergartens.
If you submit an application again after the deadline of 1 March, this will replace the previously submitted application. It will be stored as arrived after the deadline and then go to the supplementary admission.
Reply to the application
An offer of a kindergarten place will be sent out in the period mid-March to May. Rejections are sent out in the same period. Open of the kindergartens is usually after the holiday in August. (after the joint holiday)
Everyone who is allocated a place can count this as permanent until the joint holiday in the year the child turns 6 years old.
legal action
The appeal deadline for the main kindergarten admission is 3 weeks after receiving a rejection or alternative offer outside the 1st or 2nd choice of the application.
Allocation of kindergarten places is provided for in the Kindergarten Act with regulations on case processing rules for admission to kindergartens.
Apart from main admissions, there is a right of appeal in the event of rejection for applicants with priority pursuant to section 13 of the Kindergarten Act.
